Important hints and practical information

The HANSA-FLEX XWORLD Tour is a staged tour of an adventurous nature. Participants will not necessarily find everywhere we go the comfort to which they are accustomed and which they perhaps expect. Hygiene, reliable service and punctuality are all essential for conducting a tour, but each location defines these concepts differently. The organizer is working with experienced German and local tour guides and will make every effort to ensure appropriate comfort and maximum safety.

The following applies in detail.

Changes to the trip schedule

The necessity of changing the trip schedule may occur at a particular location on an ad hoc basis, with the result that the precise schedule of individual day and overall stages cannot be guaranteed. The organizer accordingly reserves the right to overnight at a different location, switch between camping and hotel accommodation, deviate from the route, change excursions and so on. However, it goes without saying that maintenance of the overall nature of the trip will always be taken into account.

Tour guides

The tour guides will represent the organizer during the trip and lead the group. Their instructions and decisions should always be followed - above all for the safety of the participants themselves. The tour guide should be supported as required and assisted with activities in the camp, on the vehicle etc.; the XWORLD Tour will benefit from maximum tolerance, flexibility and the ability to be enthusiastic.

Requirements on participants

Within the context of the trip, participants are entitled and obliged to drive the transport vehicle plus other passengers and equipment/luggage to the extent specified; participants therefore have to have a valid EU driving license (an international driving license is required for some stages) and the appropriate driving skills. These are off-road vehicles which in some cases, will have to be moved over very long daily stages and a variety of terrains. Extreme stress may occur when driving across difficult terrain or on difficult roads. In the country of travel, sand, dust, high humidity and unfavorable altitude and weather conditions etc. may have an effect on health and personal equipment (e.g. photographic and video equipment) belonging to the participant. Before booking and starting on the trip, the participant should ascertain whether his state of health will permit such (potential) stress. A truthful declaration about state of health (form) should be submitted with the registration.

Clothing/equipment

Participants should select clothing on the basis of local weather conditions likely at the time of the trip. Comfortable clothing and suitable shoes for driving are recommended during the stages. Please also remember to take sun cream and head gear as appropriate. The organizer will provide tents and foam mats for camping. Participants must bring their own sleeping bags. We recommend that you do not bring any valuables at all. We also recommend that you do not wear ostentatious jewelry or display large quantities of money in public; you should keep valuables close to your body and always keep a careful eye on what is happening around you.

Do not keep all your cash in one place; it is better to keep it in several places. We also recommend making photocopies of all important documents (such as passport, driving license, visa if required) and keeping these separate from the originals.

Vehicles and behavior of participants

The vehicles are to be treated with respect and driven in a closed group in accordance with the requirements of traffic law. There is an absolute ban on smoking or alcohol during the journey; smoking breaks can, of course, be arranged. It is strictly forbidden to bring/purchase (illegal) drugs or similar. Any penalties or similar will be the responsibility of the participant himself; he will also bear any associated costs.

Film, image and sound recordings

The organizer reserves the right to make film, image and sound recordings on this trip or to have these made by third parties and to use the resulting recordings for the purposes of press and publicity work and for marketing purposes. By registering to take part, the participant declares that he agrees to unlimited use and broadcast of these film, image and sound recordings. Participants may use their own recordings only for private purposes.

Transport/flight booking

The flight is not included in the trip price. Third-party company Pro + Motion, Marienstr. 22, 36039 Fulda will be pleased to assist you in booking flights. We will be pleased to answer any other questions about this on telephone number +49-661-440772770.

Number of participants

The minimum number of people per stage is eight, the maximum number ten. The vehicles will generally contain 2 people/participants who will take turns to drive. Extra guests may travel on some sections of the journey.

The organizer has to inform you no fewer than 28 days before the start of the trip if the minimum number of participants has not been reached, to enable you to withdraw from the trip on these grounds.

Food and accommodation

All participants will receive full board with breakfast, lunch and a shared evening meal, including all soft drinks. On driving days, an extended break for a shared picnic is scheduled at lunchtime. On camping nights, the evening meal and breakfast will be prepared together. There are many comfortable hotels on the XWORLD Tour, but most of them are in large cities and tourist centers. The organizer will always do his best to offer participants maximum comfort and adventure, so a combination of camping and top-class hotels is planned as accommodation. For camping overnight, we have sought out particularly beautiful locations to enable us to complete a day rich in experience around an atmospheric campfire. The camps will be set up in rural locations and will not have toilet facilities of any kind. All participants are required to help set up and clear away the camps. Each person will sleep in a spacious two-man tent.

In order to add a touch of luxury to the adventure, a night in a hotel is planned at least every three days. Here you will then experience luxury which seems normal in everyday life, but which can only be imagined in the great outdoors. The plan is for two people to overnight in a twin room in these mainly three to five-star hotels. On special request, we will gladly try to reserve you a single room against payment of the relevant supplement.

Passport, visa, vaccinations

A condition for travel outside Europe is a passport which is valid for at least 6 months after the end of the trip. A tourist visa is additionally required for some of the trips. You can apply for these from the appropriate embassies. We will be pleased to answer other questions about this on telephone number: +49-661-440772770. Even if not specified, the following vaccinations are a prerequisite for the XWORLD Tour: diphtheria, tetanus and polio. We would also ask you to obtain information and doctor's advice in good time about protection against infection and vaccinations, as well as other prophylactic measures. We would refer you in particular to the general information available from health authorities, doctors experienced in travel medicine, doctors of tropical medicine, travel medicine information services or the Federal Centre for Health Education [Bundeszentrale für gesundheitliche Aufklärung].
