Of junks and holy mountains
The stage from Xian to Hong Kong demonstrates the perfection of Chinese culture and tradition. The holy mountain of Emeishan is on the program, as is a visit to the Dong, an ethnic minority famous for its elaborate songs and covered "wind and rain bridges". The trip is rounded off by the bustling city of Hong Kong and an authentic junk trip.

A summary of the stage
Day 1
Individual arrival in Xian, organizational matters/vehicle instruction, sightseeing in Xian including the start point of the ancient Silk Road and the old city wall, dinner together and overnight in hotel in Xian
Day 2
Sightseeing in Xian including the Terracotta Army, free afternoon, optional visit to a typical Chinese opera or dance display*, overnight in hotel in Xian
Day 3
Stage for the day: Xian – Hanzhong (340 km), dinner together and overnight in hotel in Hanzhong
Day 4
Stage for the day: Hanzhong – Chengdu (430 km), long day's drive through Shaanxi province, visit the Giant Panda reserve near Chengdu, dinner together and overnight in hotel in Chengdu
Day 5
Stage for the day: Chengdu – Emeishan (180 km), visit the holy mountain Emeishan, dinner together and overnight in hotel in Emeishan
Day 6
Stage for the day: Emeishan – Nanxi (210 km), travel to the Great Buddha of Leshan, dinner together and overnight in hotel in Nanxi

Stage for the day: Nanxi – Dafang (350 km), drive mountain roads into Guizhou province, dinner together and overnight in hotel in Dafang

Stage for the day: Duyun – Sanjiang (300 km), travel along the Dullu Jiang river, cross the autonomous prefecture of Sanjiang where the Dong ethnic minority lives (their wooden houses, towers and bridges grace the environment here), dinner together and overnight in hotel in Sanjiang

Stage for the day: Sanjiang – Yangshou (170 km), travel through the terraced rice fields in Longshen, visit the karsts (knobby limestone hills) on the River Li, evening excursion to see cormorant bird fishing in Yangshou*, overnight in hotel in Yangshou
Day 11
Stage for the day: Yangshou – Shaoguan (430 km), long day's drive through Guangxi province, dinner together and overnight in hotel in Shaoguan
Day 12
