Stage 15: Lhasa to Chengdu

The home of the panda
This stage leads from the Tibetan plateau, past ancient monastic towns and steep gorges, down to the Red Bowl of Sichuan province, where sights such as the largest statue of Buddha in the world await. Historic Chengdu, also honoured with the title the "Panda capital" is our destination.

Day 1
Individual arrival in Lhasa, organizational matters/vehicle instruction, dinner together and overnight in hotel in Lhasa
Day 2
Sightseeing in Lhasa including the Potala Palace and Lhasa's ancient city, dinner together and overnight in hotel in Lhasa
Day 3
Stage for the day: Lhasa – Linzhi (450 km), cross the Mi La Pass (5,000 m), visit various Tibetan monasteries, overnight in a simple guesthouse at Linzhi
Day 4
Stage for the day: Linzhi – Baxoi (450 km), cross the Serkhyim La Pass (4,515 m), camp overnight near Baxoi
Day 5
Stage for the day: Baxoi – Batang (420 km), Lake Rawok Tso, cross the Dungd La Pass (5,008 m), pass through Sichuan province, dinner together and overnight in a hotel
Day 6
Stage for the day: Batang – Litang (210 km), visit the monastery city of Litang built of clay tiles, overnight in a simple guesthouse near Litang
Day 7
Stage for the day: Litang – Kangding (290 km), winding roads lead away from the Tibetan plateau, overnight in a simple guesthouse in Kangding
Day 8
Stage for the day: Kangding – Leshan (320 km), visit the Great Buddha of Leshan, dinner together and overnight in hotel in Leshan
Day 9
Stage for the day: Leshan – Chengdu (230 km), visit the holy mountain Emeishan and its innumerable temples, dinner together and overnight in hotel in Chengdu
Day 10
Visit the Giant Panda reserve near Chengdu,<span/> visit the temple precincts of Chengdu (Wen<span/>shu Yuan Temple), dinner together and overnight in hotel in Chengdu
