No other area has yielded up as many eggs and complete nests of dinosaurs as the Gobi Desert. Today, the second largest dry zone on earth is home to wolves, gazelles and snow leopards. The stage from Ulan Bator to Beijing is a voyage through a fascinating sea of sand and stones, revealing one surprise after another.

Day 1

Individual arrival in Ulan Bator, dinner together and overnight in hotel in Ulan Bator

Day 2

Organizational matters/vehicle instruction, sightseeing in Ulan Bator incl. SuchBaator Square and Gandan monastery, afternoon free, visit to an evening cultural event*, overnight in hotel in Ulan Bator

Day 3

Stage for the day: Ulan Bator – Karakorum (380 km), visit the town of Karakorum (UNESCO World Heritage Site), dinner together and overnight in hotel in Karakorum

Day 4

Stage for the day: Karakorum – Khuislin Naiman Nuur National Park (180 km), travel to the Orchon waterfall, overnight in a yurt camp near Karakorum

Day 5

Stage for the day: Khuislin Naiman Nuur National Park – Gobi Desert (270 km), travel along the foothills of the Gobi Desert, camp overnight by the Gobi Desert

Day 6

Stage for the day: Gobi Desert – Dalandzagad (420 km), visit Vulture Gorge, dinner together, overnight in hotel in Dalandzagad

Day 7

Stage for the day: Dalandzagad – Mandakh (380 km), travel through the eastern part of the Gobi Desert, camp overnight near Mandakh

Day 8

Stage for the day: Mandakh – Chinese border (420 km), camp overnight near the Chinese border

Day 9

Stage for the day: Chinese border – Jining (360 km), cross the border from Mongolia into China, dinner together, overnight in hotel in Jining

Day 10

Stage for the day: Jining - Datong (150 km), visit the Yungang Caves declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO (Buddhist cave temples), dinner together and overnight in hotel in Datong

Day 11

Day trip to the Hanging Monasteries on the Hengsthan mountain, dinner together and overnight in hotel in Datong

Day 12

Stage for the day: Datong – Beijing (330 km), visit the Great Wall of China at Badaling, dinner together and overnight in hotel in Beijing

Day 13

Sightseeing in Beijing, including Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the old city of Beijing, dinner together and overnight in hotel in Beijing

Day 14
